From the day when he entered the court, Michael Jeffrey Jordan changed his uniform number for five times, and each number had a little-known story behind it. Have a Look at the Top 5 cheap ghd straighteners for Fall at Once! You Will be Impressed!

No. 23 jersey is one of “trade marks” of Michael. Become attached to “2 3″ began in Jordan’s high school. Accompany with Jordan from senior high school, The University of North Carolina and majority of NBA match, No.23 polo shirt has witnessed his tales of marvels. Due to love to baseball and didn`t have enough height, Jordan didn`t do well at first in Rani high school. Since 1981, he entranced NCU, and instructed by American university famous coach, Jordan`s technology progresses immediately. In the NCAA final next year, Jordan wears No.23 won the game in the last 15 seconds and sent North Carolina to the national champion. This is also the first time “No.23″ is well-known.

In the draft afterwards, ranked No. 3 in the first round, Jordan was selected by Chicago Bulls, and Jordan resolutely chose “No 23″ after signed a seven-year contract worthy 600 million with the team. After training of two seasons, Jordon`s skill became perfect. In 1987, for the first time he became NBA score king, and later he got this honor for eight times. While in the All-Star games of 1987 and 1988, he became the dunk king twice, but the most exciting thing for people was that Jordan’s legendary story of five championships in seven years. After seven years of hard waiting, the 28-year-old Jordan leading the Bulls entered the finals in an uncontrolled momentum in 1991, and later beat the Lakers, and the cause of winning three times in a row began. Later, he, in the peak of his career, announced to retire, and raised the No.23 to the ceiling of United Center in Chicago with his three children. Although Jordon picks up the “No. 23″ again, “No. 23″ still continues writing the glory, that day will come.

Jordan’s No.5 jersey is seldom known by people. In the summer of 1983, Jordan was selected into the National team and participated in the Pan American Games wearing a No.5 jersey, the U.S. team won the gold medal in the end. After this game Jordan said that this journey taught him a lot, and made him choose geography as his major. Thus he can figure out the country’s leading airports, major hotels and the venue location, which is also beneficial to he fly across the United States which he will participate in the competition.

Number 9 jersey accompanied Jordon in Los Angeles Olympic Games and Barcelona Olympic Games. It witnessed he leading American team formed all by university players got the Golden Cup of Los Angeles Olympic Games strongly and easily. And again accompanied him leading the “Dream Team” won in Barcelona Olympic Games, and made him the most dazzling star in the Olympic Games. Jordan used “No.12″ jersey only one time. Before they standoff with Orlando Magic team, due to “No.23″ jersey has been theft, so Jordan had no choice but wore a nameless “No.12″ jersey play great scored and got 49 points. “No. 45″ is a jersey which Michael Jordan play baseball and return to the early NBA jersey in 1995. He got penalty by the NBA authorities due to he replaced this jersey in private.

Rockets’ travel in Oklahoma ended with rather sad failure. With the great victory of this match, Thunders probably is going for the playoff. This is the first time for Thunders to enter the playoff in the history of this team. To have this kind of success, the central figure of this team Kevin Durant, has a lot to do with it.4 Things You Should Remember About GHD MK4 Black

Durant has scored 25 points while his average performance this season is 29.7, outweighing Bryant and James, becoming the king to score points. This is the third season for Durant. In a short three years’ of time, Durant has turned himself into the first leading figure from a young man. His growth rate has been in no way inferior to the young LeBron – James. But there is a story related to his jersey number which is unknown to the public. “I wish more people could get to know why I am wearing this jersey, No. 35,” Durant noted, this young man has been wearing No. 35 jersey since he was studying in college, he never changed, the purpose is to commemorate the first basketable teacher of his life—Charles Craig. Durant got to know Creig when he was eight, it is Creig who brought Durant into the world of basketball.” “When I was very young, I played with him all through the day,” Durant reflected. Their relationship has already surpassed ordinary friends.Gifts of GHD MK4 Kiss for Under $400

When Durant was young, Craig offered everything needed for the growing up of this genius. He took Durant in his own car as well as other kids who wanted to achieve something in the world of basketball to play games everywhere. He was in charge of the accommodation of these children and he bought basketball shirts and other equipments for those children from poor families. “He made every child feel like a jersey, and he was the only coach I know who can feel great after you lose a game,” another one who has been fortunate enough to receive help from Craig recalled.

Durant’s gift in basketball was soon discovered, but the increasing skill didn’t influence their relationship. He still, every now and then, comes back to he ancestral home to play with his enlightening teacher. If everything was smooth, Craig would be Durant’s referrer. He would have written to Texas University and he would have been with Durant three years ago when he entered this league by the second draft in the green house of Madison Square Garden of New York.

But an accident changed everything. On the dawn of April 30, 2005, Craig was shot by someone at the parking lot. Durant once thought it was a joke when the sad news reached. “At that time, my mind was blank, I thought this was a sick joke,” Durant recalled, but the fact is too brutal,” those people killed him with no reason just like that.”

From then on Durant changed to No.35 jersey to commemorate his best friend and also his enlightenment coach.

Five years has passed and Durant has already become a superstar in the league. This NO.35 NBA Jersey has also become the 15th most popular which makes Durant proud. “The reason why I did this is that I love him. To me, no any other number that is more suitable to me.” said Durant. Durant is very proud to say, “Every time I step on court, I won the victory for him. I hope what i have done allows him to be proud of me.”

Jordan has tough task in Charlotte

Filed under: NBA Stars — admin @ 3:48 am

Michael Jordan won at UNC. He won a lot with the Chicago Bulls. Now, he must try what seems, at least for the last five seasons, impossible: win with the Charlotte Bobcats.

Time will tell whether Jordan is a good owner, but if there is one certainty, it’s that Bob Johnson was a bad one. Johnson did nothing to build bridges in a community already soured by Hornets owner George Shinn, and, on his way out of town, burned any remaining bridge fragments by calling the city’s business leaders “arrogant” and “incestuous.” Johnson showed no interest in basketball or putting together a winning franchise – he’s even said before that owning a team was a good way to raise his own profile – yet still expected basketball fans in this state to lie down before him and fill his bank accounts.

Not every owner needs to be the Mavericks’ Mark Cuban, sitting courtside at every game, yelling at the refs, occasionally drawing technical fouls. Not every owner needs to be Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, who fires personnel at the push of a button. Their passion for their respective franchises is admirable, but there have been plenty of lower-profile, laissez-faire owners that put together winning teams – the Patriots’ Robert Kraft, for example.

Jordan’s biggest difference from Johnson does not need to be his presence on the sideline – that’s a bonus, certainly – but simply caring about the team’s on-court results. Johnson had two things in mind: himself, and his bank account. Jordan needs to care about wins and losses. When the wins come, so will the fans and their dollars, a cause-and-effect relationship Johnson apparently couldn’t figure out.
Jordan has already said he’ll be more like Cuban than Johnson (or Clippers owner Donald Sterling, who has a firm claim as “worst owner in sports”). And his track record as a player (and gambler) suggests there are few more competitive individuals on the planet. So far, that fire has translated into mixed results as a basketball executive. He brought Larry Brown and Stephen Jackson to Charlotte – both looking great, as the team barrels toward its first playoff appearance – but he also carries the stigma of drafting Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison. Both duds.

Jordan will have his first big test as an owner soon: Larry Brown’s future. Brown is notorious for hopping from job to job, and there have already been rumors that the Clippers and 76ers are interested in his services. (Of course, there was another rumor that Brown’s camp floated the Clippers rumor as a negotiating ploy.) Keeping Brown will be one challenge, and finding a new coach should he leave would be another one. As an executive, Jordan already swung and missed on Sam Vincent but hit a home run with Brown. He’ll have another at-bat in the near future.

Among the things that Jordan shouldn’t lose sleep over is the team’s name. The rumor is that Johnson named them the “Bobcats” after himself, and plenty of others have derided the name as cheesy or juvenile. But there is a growing number of people that have become attached to the moniker, and even more that approve of the new jerseys the team got before this season. Detractors claim that a better name would sell more merchandise.

No, a winning team would sell more merchandise. A winning team would put butts in the seats. A winning team would draw advertisers, nationally television broadcasts and become a desirable location for free agents.

Luckily, Jordan knows a thing or two about winning.

Pressure of patience can create some trying times

Filed under: NBA Referees — Tags: — admin @ 3:50 am

Time, though our clocks would argue otherwise, really is elastic. One minute in the dentist’s chair can last longer than half a day at the beach. The 24 hours before Dec. 25 when you’re a kid? Takes forever. The 24 hours before April 16 when you’re a head of household, filing jointly? Flies by.

NBA players, coaches and fans experience similar time tricks. What’s longer: a triple-overtime game between the Celtics and the Lakers or the last five minutes of New Jersey-Philadelphia? Eighty-two games chasing 60 victories or 82 games chasing 10?

When time is whizzing by, a lot of things take care of themselves. Pressure begets urgency, which triggers adrenaline, instincts and muscle memory. Gotta act, gotta go, no time to think.

When time drags on, though, the pressure is entirely different.

Patience, the flip side of urgency, matters most. It’s a gut-check all its own and in some ways harder to come by than the ability to simply react. Because with patience, there’s time to think, wonder and second-guess.

The NBA teams jockeying for playoff position or clinging to some shreds of their postseason goals have it easier, in a sense, than those for whom the lottery is a foregone conclusion.

“Patience is a lot harder,” Minnesota coach Kurt Rambis said of his youthful roster the other night. “If you think back to how you were at that age, you think you know everything. You want everything to happen tomorrow — or yesterday. You’re impatient. So if things don’t happen right away, you get frustrated. You don’t appreciate that it’s a process and that things develop over time.

“I’ve been through that with young players. I’ve seen how long it takes to develop skills, and to break and change habits. I know that it takes time. We’ve all lived through that. But the players haven’t. So while they’re going through frustrating times, they want everything to be perfect, they want everything to be right, they want it to work out well for them. And at this age, they have an ego and in a lot of ways, it’s about them. ‘What’s in this for me?’ And we’re trying to develop team concepts here.”

History is rife with wise quotations about patience — “The secret of patience is doing something else in the meantime” — but few of them have come from NBA locker rooms or front offices. No matter how well the people there understand the importance of waiting and staying the course, precious wins and infernal losses get posted on a nightly basis. Coaches get hired and fired, players come and go.

Last summer, Timberwolves forward Al Jefferson recalled how impatient he was getting with all the waiting in his career — three traction-less seasons in Boston, two more in Minnesota — and fast-forwarded the arc of his career into a blink of an eye.

“I’ve been here five years,” the big guy said. “In five more years, I’ll be 30. Five years after that, I’ll be on my way out.”

Fortunately, basketball and life don’t pass by quite that rapidly. But it did show how players often think, how compressed a professional athlete’s career can feel and how the future stretches out no further than a week from Tuesday.

“Me, I’m trying to win right away,” said Wolves guard Corey Brewer, who just turned 24. “Everybody’s telling me ‘three years,’ saying that’s ‘rebuilding.’ We’ve been rebuilding. We traded KG [Kevin Garnett] my rookie year, right after I got drafted. Last year, we changed it up again. Now they’re saying two years, so hopefully I’m around to see it.”

Brewer’s teammate, Kevin Love, recently expressed frustration with Rambis’ triangle offense, with his playing time, with his role off the bench on a team that sometimes starts Ryan Hollins or Darko Milicic. But it’s all relative because, just the other night, Toronto’s Chris Bosh — already an All-Star, likely on his way to a third playoff experience — spoke of being impatient with the Raptors’ need to find a faster gear.

You don’t think New Jersey fans are impatient with the Nets, the development of young players there, the team’s prospects in free agency this summer, the construction of that new Brooklyn arena and whatever impact Jay-Z and that Russian billionaire might have in ownership tandem? Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, San Antonio grew more than a little impatient with forward Richard Jefferson this season when his acquisition didn’t flip a switch in terms of results.

Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who has known only winning, recently preached patience about his former assistant Rambis, now a rookie head coach.

“You look at it in a five-year plan. I think it’s good to keep it in perspective in the long term, not the short term for one season,” Jackson said.

A couple of days later, even the great Michael Jordan — in a hurry to dominate pretty much everything he encounters — was preaching the same thing in his new role as owner of the Bobcats. Just because he has a coach who pushed for seven trades involving 21 players in about 18 months time, that doesn’t mean Jordan can succumb to impatient urges.

“I’d like to give my team another year to bond and blend together and see if we can take it further, or we can find something along the road to get us over the hump,” Jordan said. “The thing about this team that people tend to forget is we haven’t been together a year yet.”

Everybody tends to forget that sort of stuff. In the NBA, as in many places, patience is a virtue. It’s also downright impossible at times.

NBA Player Jersey Sales Volume Displays Who’s Most Valuable

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor

Who is the most favorite NBA player in fans? No doubt he is wearing No.24 jersey in the Lakers, Kobe Bryant. Recently, the NBA Official announced the sales ranking list of NBA polo shirts in the first half of the sports competition season in 2009 to 2010. In statistics, Laker’s star Kobe Bryant, who has forcibly occupied the top of the list all the time since last season, is still staying high in the top of the list. This ranking is based on the common statistical result of both NBA official physical and online stores, showing Kobe’s fully popular super-star style. Kobe’s No.24 Lakers jersey has become the best-selling NBA jersey for the second consecutive year. In his career, Kobe was selected as an all-star for 11 times, so he is undoubtedly the best player in the Association.Hot Sales from 2010: ugg boots and Accessories

Treading on the heels of him is Cavaliers’ vanguard LeBron James and Magic’s centre forward Dwight Howard. Choose Most Fitting ed hardy shoes for Designers Wearing Number 23 polo shirt the same as him, “Little Emperor” James is recognized as the sole NBA person who is quarlified to inherit Jardon. At the same time, by virtue of its excellent strength and basketball skills, James holds stubbornly high popularity, threatening the first name of Bryant’s position in the list. Howard and the Bulls’ guard Derrick Rose, their jersey sales by leaps and bounds this year, they list in the position of 3 and 4, while last season, when the two men’s hovering just outside the ranking list. What’s worth special noticing is Rose. With stable performance, he has already won the trust and love of more and more basketball fans. What’s more surprising is that as the first one to be picked up in the first run last year and as the best new player of last season, he entered top 5 unexpectedly. His sales number even surpassed the superstar Dwyane Wade from Miami Heat.

Moreover old player Shaquille O’Neal who joined Cavaliers this summer must be mentioned. The jersey sales of “Shark” has never been in top 10 of the last sinceJune of 2008. But after joining Cleveland Cavaliers,as “little emperor”‘s assistant,O’Neal once again has been the concern of fans and in this selection, O’Neal’s jersey sales once again thrust back to the forefront of the list. But it looks quite some irony, because he seems to be soiled with the new team-mate James light. Besides people mentioned above, the jersey of the main player Wade of Miami Heat is quite popular. The shirt sales of the top scorer in the league Carmelo Anthony also got a steady rise. Although they are all the top 10 in the list, the sales of the top 5 are much more than that of the others. Such big differences show the great charm of stars such as Kobe.

From a view of whole team, jersey of LA Lakers is the best-selling product in the NBA. Because they are number one in the Western Conference, in the top. Besides Bryant, the jersey sales of the center Pau Gasol is also at the top of the list. The good jersey sales of many palyers makes Lakers the best seller as a whole. Lvshan Army Celtics were followed by the Lakers after the second consecutive year, sales maintained their second place position, while sales of Cavaliers forward a ranking. Of course, they are just sales of last season.the sale of jersey has relatively fiuctuated, there is a great growth rate of the sales from playoff teams.

Game Thread: Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors – Kobe or MJ? Depends on your age

tonyrobles_monta-kobe_medium
It’s mid-March, the Warriors (18 wins) are the 3rd-worst team in the Association and the Lakers (18 losses) are on their romp to the Finals. The Lakers, on the road, are 8-point favorites and the over/under is 223.5. So, let me get the two biggies as it would pertain to a normal game preview out of the way: Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry? They struggle against the Lakers…

Curry has averaged 13.0 points on 34.8 percent shooting – including 2 of 16 from 3-point range – in the three games, while Ellis averaged 20.0 points in two games – 5.6 less than his team-leading average.

And secondly, Kobe Bryant is in town, on three days’ rest. But do we really care about this game? Does it matter to us if Kobe scores 30, 40, fifty, against this Warriors defense? Against D-Leaguers (btw, kudos to Reggie Williams for getting his 2nd 10-day contract)? Nah, let’s talk about something else. Something bigger. Something we might really care about.

So anyways, back on Friday, Kobe had his 7th game-winning shot this season, victimizing the Toronto Raptors. Of course, once I heard he had as many game-winners as the Nets have wins this year, I had to google around to see if he had as many career game-winning shots as Michael Jordan. The results seemed to conclude that Kobe has more game-winners than MJ, although I have not found the definitive blogpost anywhere, that would look like an indisputable, credible study. There are many forums out there that talk about this, and the discussion — not that I’m bringing up anything that’s revolutionary — is quite divisive. With that, I present this poll which is the part of the thesis of this post (disguised as a game preview, as it were!)…

Star-divide

Why 34 years of age or older for this poll, you ask?

Well, here’s my theory. MJ was born in 1963. By the time there was general consensus that he might be “out of this world”, it was about the 1986-87 season, when he averaged 37.1 ppg and became the only player other than Wilt Chamberlain to score 3,000 total points in one season. This was the year before he ended up on the path towards getting beat up by the Bad Boys for three consecutive post-seasons. By the time he was unanimously accepted as a champion and not poo-poo’ed as a “ball hog”, it was hugging his first trophy, after beating the Lakers in the 1991 Finals.

But being a mere champion versus being the Greatest Of All Time are different things. Unless you were a devout follower of MJ or the NBA, the realization that he could possibly be the G.O.A.T. could not have set in earlier than after MJ recorded his third straight title. After all, the Pistons had won two in a row prior to the Bulls’ run of two in a row. People knew Isiah Thomas was great, but he certainly was not being considered the greatest point guard of all time, even after title number two.

At the same time, I would guesstimate that avid NBA followers start watching games intently and intelligently no earlier than age 16, if not, then 18 and maybe even more-so at age 20 assuming you went to college and spent your freshman and sophomore years adjusting to the rigors of higher academics, dorm life, and the like.

It should come as no surprise that such claims are heavily influenced by my own experiences. When I was sixteen, I was busy trying to make the varsity high school team. I liked how Magic Johnson played when I was a middle schooler, and I tried to emulate his dribbling and bullet passes, but really, how do you emulate that when no one’s even taught you the fundamentals of how to play the game? Back in the day, the fundamentals were taught in high school.

So while MJ was tearing up the league at 37.1 per every other weeknight, we were busy in practice. He was certainly not on TV all that much — hard to believe now, isn’t it? So while I was 17, I knew what MJ could do having watched him drop 63 on the Celtics in the 1986 playoffs, but I wasn’t necessarily watching him all the time. And even if there were such a thing as TNT back then, how could I possibly have the basketball knowledge to translate what he did on the court to what I did on the court? I couldn’t intelligently process MJ. It wasn’t until college when I had near-unlimited time at the university rec center, when the defending champion Bulls were on WGN, and when I could study the man’s footwork and see how fundamentally sound he was. So, that’s why I say, at age 20 you’re probably ready to intelligently follow the NBA.

Therefore, doing the math, there is no way you could possibly comprehend MJ being the best ever, then relate that back to the years that you saw him play leading up to that, unless you were at least 16 years old by the end of the first three-peat, the 1992-93 season. That puts your birth year no later than 1976.

As I was researching this post, I started with that now-pivotal day: December 2nd, 1987. Not that I knew the exact date as I do now, but I knew what had happened that day. This is because other NBA stars would talk about it years later (someone, please YouTube that!), in VHS montages such as Come Fly With Me. I wish I could’ve seen this game live.

Incidentally, Phil Jackson was not his coach at the time — it was Doug Collins. So whatever Phil has to say about MJ, remember, he didn’t witness all of his amazing feats, particularly those that involved attacking the rim with almost reckless abandon.

A coach on the floor, could LeBron James someday be a coach on the bench? NBA Insider

CLEVELAND, Ohio — During his second season in the league, LeBron James was starting to figure out his place. When things weren’t going well on the floor, he often would yell over to the coaching staff that certain things needed to be fixed.

By his fourth season, James was routinely offering suggestions on in-game strategies and adjustments within huddles and the locker room.

Now in his seventh season, it is commonplace for James to have ongoing discussions with coach Mike Brown about who should be in the game, which defense the team should be in and where other players on the court should and shouldn’t be.

Brown has fostered this, even if he’s routinely mocked for it, because his philosophy is to get the superstar to buy in and invest himself in the decisions. Just as a corporation, by often making James a partner in the process, may have a player more dedicated to the success of theentire product.

“I see things that I think may work throughout the course of a game and I’ve been able to make moves on the fly and it helps our team,” James said. “I think it is growth that comes with experience and with leadership.”

This season James has been involved in the coaching process more than ever. Whether it is consulting with Brown over lineup changes, voicing matchup preferences in the huddle or simply giving his opinion on substitutions, James could be considered the Cavs’ fifth assistant coach.

“The feel he has for the game is tremendous,” Brown said. “His basketball IQ is off the charts and he’s keenly aware of the scouting reports and what you are trying to do and what other teams are trying to do.”

All of this begs the question as to whether coaching may be in James’ future.

Superstars have not made the transition to coaching often in NBA history. Jerry West and Larry Bird were successful, but seemed to quickly tire of the job. Elgin Baylor did poorly. Magic Johnson lasted 15 games. Isiah Thomas is still working on it but the results have been spotty at best. Patrick Ewing, currently an assistant coach with the Magic, wants a head coaching job.

Bill Russell won two championships as a player-coach for the Celtics, but coached losing teams in three of the five years he was on the bench only as a coach.

James, a student of the game’s history, knows this and can feel it. Being a player-coach is currently not allowed and, without that option, James said he doesn’t think he could ever be a head coach.

“I wouldn’t want to be a head coach in the NBA, I’ll tell you that,” James said. “Way too much pressure as a head coach. I like head coaches, but [it's] not for me.”

This from a someone who likes to say he personally doesn’t believe in pressure.

“As a coach, you have to deal with 15 different personalities,” James said. “You have to police them but at the same time understand they are grown men and at the end of the day they are going to do what they want to do. If something goes wrong, the blame automatically goes to the coach. That’s a tough job.”

The blame also automatically goes on the Most Valuable Player. But James, who seems to have given this idea some thought, said that is different.

“I’m OK with that situation as a player, but as a coach I don’t know if I’m OK with that,” he said. “I can control what I do as a player. I can’t control one of my players if he misses four or five layups.”

James did say that he’d perhaps consider being an assistant coach with little responsibility or a general manager. This is an adjustment from just a couple of years ago when James said when he retired he’d be walking away from the game for good. Perhaps his perspective will continue to change as he gets older.

“I can mix and match. I know talent, I do know that. GM is a lot of pressure, too,” James said. “I’d like to be like [Mavericks owner] Mark Cuban and just sit back at the games.”

If nothing else, James seems to have developed some respect for what coaches have to go through. That includes Brown, whom James praised for his work on the sideline so far this season.

“There’s a little pressure on Mike but at the same time he’s doing a great job,” James said. “When you have a really talented team, everyone expects you to turn it into a championship and that is the sport we live in and the responsibly coaches take.”

AROUND THE ASSOCIATION

Ownership updates: The NBA is planning to fast track Michael Jordan’s purchase of the Charlotte Bobcats, which reports have indicated he is largely making with his own money after a failed attempt to recruit investors. Also within days, the league is expected to approve Russianbillionaire’s Mikhail Prokhorov purchase of the New Jersey Nets.

Both men bought their teams at reduced value. There have been conflicting reports on the prices but it is clear that both Nets owner Bruce Ratner and Bobcats owner Bob Johnson, both of whom paid roughly $300 million for their teams in 2003, took heavy losses on the sales.

As for the Cavs, league sources indicate Hong Kong businessman Albert Hung’s purchase of 15 percent of the team from David Katzman is still stuck in red tape. While sources says there are no major issues holding it up, this has been a year-long process. One insider said that Katzman has been getting impatient waiting for all of his money.

There have been reports in Detroit that Katzman is interested in assembling a group to buy the Detroit Pistons, who are for sale.

The Manu problem: This is a well-known a huge summer for free agency. But not has much attention goes to the full scope of the class because so much is focused on the LeBron James/Dwyane Wade/Chris Bosh issues. There are other players who have to make big career decisions, as do their teams.

For example, do the Dallas Mavericks give Dirk Nowitzki a full max extension as he’s about to turn 32? Same for the Boston Celtics with Paul Pierce, a potential free agent at 32, who is showing some wear this season.

Another team firmly in that position is the San Antonio Spurs with Manu Ginobili. He’s having a good second half of the season, but will turn 33 in July and has battled serious ankle issues for the last few years.

How much can he command and how much are the Spurs will to pay?

It may be a quite a bit, his agent explains, because there’s so many teams with cap space and so few premium free agents out there. Right now the Spurs aren’t willing to talk about a contract.

“You’ve got all these teams with all this money, and only one can sign LeBron,” Herb Rudoy, who also represents Zydrunas Ilgauskas, told the San Antonio Express-News. “We all know Manu is a player who makes a difference.

“I have no problem, and Manu doesn’t either, to go to free agency and see what’s out there. His heart is really in San Antonio, but the onus is not on me, it’s on the other side of the table to want to discuss this. I’d be surprised if they let him go to free agency, but it’s their decision.”
